Schuman Financial’s main activity is the issuance of euro stablecoins, notably EURØP, a stablecoin backed by the euro and designed to enable on-chain (blockchain) transactions in euros. Schuman Financial acts as an electronic money institution, regulated in France and compliant with European MiCA regulations.
The flagship product offered is EURØP, a euro stablecoin (e-money token) 100% backed by euro reserves held with major European financial institutions, and audited quarterly by KPMG. This stablecoin is intended to facilitate instant and low-cost payments, transfers, and settlements on the blockchain, while offering high transparency and regulatory compliance.
Schuman Financial’s target market includes:
- Businesses wishing to convert euros into stablecoins for on-chain uses (payments, settlements, treasury, etc.)
- Exchanges, digital wallets, and decentralized finance (DeFi) players seeking a stable and regulated euro solution
- Individual users via partners (exchanges, wallets) for euro transactions on the blockchain
Schuman Financial aims to become the leading infrastructure for euro tokenization and the transition from traditional finance to decentralized finance in Europe.
History
Schuman Financial is a company specialized in the issuance of euro stablecoins, with its flagship product EURØP, a euro stablecoin designed to enable on-chain euro transactions on a global scale. Here are the key stages of its development:
- Creation and structure: Schuman Financial operates under the trade name Salvus SAS, an electronic money institution authorized by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) in France, with authorization valid throughout the EU and EEA. Salvus SAS is a subsidiary of Schuman Financial AG, based in Switzerland.
- Launch of the EURØP product: EURØP is a euro stablecoin (e-money token) 100% backed by euro reserves held with major European financial institutions, including Société Générale. It is designed to meet the growing demand for euro-denominated digital assets in a market dominated by the dollar.
- Regulatory compliance: Schuman Financial is one of the first issuers to be fully compliant with the MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) regulation, allowing it to operate legally and transparently in the European crypto-asset space.
- Transparency and audits: EURØP reserves are audited quarterly by KPMG, ensuring transparency and security of funds. The first audit report is published three months after the stablecoin’s launch.
- Strategic partnerships: Schuman Financial has established partnerships with many major players in finance and blockchain, such as Swissborg, Utila, Bit2Me, Bitvavo, Deblock, Kraken, Bitpanda, N26, Polygon, Palisade, Sologenic, Ripple, Assetera, and Fireblocks. These collaborations facilitate the integration of EURØP on leading exchange and blockchain infrastructure platforms.
- Strategic changes and vision: The company positions itself as a key player in the decentralization of European finance, building a euro-denominated Web3 ecosystem and bridging traditional finance with blockchain. It aims to address the underrepresentation of the euro in the digital asset universe, as the euro stablecoin market remains below 1% of the global market.
Schuman Financial thus establishes itself as a pioneer in the tokenization of the euro, relying on regulatory compliance, transparency, strong partnerships, and a vision focused on the digital transformation of European finance.
