Team
Founder:
Mark Gorton is the founder of Tower Research Capital. He created the company in 1998 and became its Chairman in 2019. Mark Gorton is also known for having launched other successful companies such as LimeWire and OpenPlans. Before Tower, he worked as a proprietary trader in fixed income products at Credit Suisse First Boston and began his career as an engineer at Martin Marietta. He holds degrees from Yale (BS in Electrical Engineering), Stanford (MS in Electrical Engineering), and Harvard (MBA).
Key members of the management team:
- Mark Gorton: Chairman and founder.
- Albert An: Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He joined Tower in 2016 as Head of Trading Supervision, then CTO, before becoming CEO in 2019. Before Tower, he held leadership positions in electronic trading at UBS, Credit Suisse, and Merrill Lynch, and began his career at Wolverine Trading. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago (BA in Economics) and the University of London (MSc in Trading and Mathematical Finance).
