Wallex

The main activity of Wallex is to provide centralized access to the law in Wallonia. It is an official platform that makes available legislative texts, decrees, orders and other legal documents relating to the Walloon Region. The main "products" or services offered are consultation, search and access to the fundamental texts and legal codes applicable in Wallonia. The target market consists of citizens, legal professionals, public administrations, as well as any person or organization needing legal information on Walloon legislation.

Wallex is the official legal website for Wallonia, developed by the Public Service of Wallonia (SPW). It is a platform that centralizes all legislative, regulatory, and administrative texts applicable in Wallonia. Wallex was created to provide easy, transparent, and up-to-date access to regional legislation, thus meeting the need to modernize and simplify access to the law for citizens, professionals, and administrations.

The key stages of its development include:

• Creation: Wallex was launched by the SPW to centralize and disseminate Walloon legislation, in a context of increased regionalization and the multiplication of texts specific to Wallonia.
• Products: The site offers a comprehensive database of fundamental texts (Constitution, decrees, orders, etc.), codes, as well as advanced search and legal monitoring tools.
• Partnerships: Wallex works in connection with other institutional platforms such as Gallilex (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) and the Geoportal of Wallonia, facilitating interoperability and cross-access to public information.
• Strategic developments: The site is regularly updated to integrate new texts and improve the user experience, with features such as registration, account management, and quick access to key topics (environment, social action, tourism, etc.).

Wallex is part of Wallonia's digitalization and administrative transparency strategy, aiming to make the law accessible to all and to support good regional governance.

Wallex is not a private company but the official database of Walloon law, managed by the Public Service of Wallonia (SPW). Therefore, there is no founder or executive team in the traditional sense, but the project is institutionally supported by the Walloon Government and implemented by the SPW. The responsible parties are thus the members of the Walloon Government and the SPW management, notably the General Directorate of SPW Digital, which ensures the technical and editorial management of Wallex.
