Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution

The Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) is an independent administrative authority attached to the Banque de France. Its main activity is to supervise the banking and insurance sectors in France. The ACPR ensures financial stability, client protection, the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as compliance with prudential and resolution regulations.

The services offered by the ACPR include granting licenses to banking and insurance institutions, monitoring their financial soundness, overseeing their compliance with laws and regulations, and managing resolution procedures in the event of an institution’s failure. The ACPR is primarily aimed at credit institutions, insurance companies, mutuals, provident institutions, financial intermediaries, and more broadly, all financial sector players operating in the French market.
